
Summary
Melissa is the majority owner of the firm and is the company’s Chief Executive Officer. In addition to managing the office, Mrs. Baughman is responsible for company quality assurance in conjunction with technical and administrative operations. She is a trained Project Manager who enjoys developing relationships and keeping clients happy.
Before co-founding Parking Consultants LLC, Melissa owned and managed two local technical companies. This experience enabled her to develop a strong work ethic for doing quality work and meeting the needs of a diverse
clientele.
Her background includes specifying and managing the installation of a wide variety of controls and security equipment. She is familiar with parking access and revenue control equipment (PARC) including pay-on-foot, pay and display, meters and pay stations, automatic vehicle identification, license plate inventory, swipe cards, proximity cards, and so forth. In addition, she understands cashier booth design with CCTV screening, central cashiering operations, carbon monoxide monitoring devices, back-lit signage, lighting controls to minimize cost, and parking availability message boards.
Melissa is competent in functional design with expertise in parking module geometry, one-way and two-way traffic flow, minimizing vehicular-pedestrian conflicts, turning radii, ramping systems, ADA requirements, signage and graphics, openness calculations, safety & security, and stair/elevator core design.
She has successfully developed risk management programs, detailed project schedules, procurement procedures, contract negotiation and scope review documents, and other similar general project and operations programs. Melissa has conducted safety training seminars, facilitated customer service programs, and she has guided numerous project meetings for documentation, estimating, and specification analysis.
She has earned a reputation for problem solving, executing project change orders, RFI submissions, job site inspections, and clearing punch-lists.
